The Al Azhar Shriners are headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and are responsible for Shrine activities in Southern Alberta. The Al Azhar Shriners are part of Shriners International, a fraternity with nearly 200 chapters and thousands of clubs/units around the world. We believe in fun, fellowship and the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief and truth. As Shriners we support the Shriners Hospitals for Children which provides health care to children regardless of a families’ ability to pay. What started in 1922 with just one hospital, has since grown into a world-renowned health care system with 22 locations in three countries around the world. Over the years The Shriners Hospitals for Children has provided health care to more than 1.4 million children specializing in orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip/palate and much more.
