The Provost Shrine Unit was established back in September 1957 for the Fall Golden Jubilee Ceremonial held in Calgary that year. Our unit is recognized as the Potentate’s Unit, providing official marching escort for the Potentate and/or Divan for about 8 parades a year and other events. The Provost Unit takes part in Ceremonials both locally and in other parts of Canada and the United States. We are the internal Shrine Police Force, responsible for maintaining dignity and decorum during gatherings.
